As a matter of interest does anyone know whether genuine Volvo dog guards (see below) mount to the same threaded holes as the seat belts for the child seats that also fit in the back? Look like it in the photo.

If it goes for too much let me know. I've vague recollections of one lying around in my outbuildings somewhere which I may let go. Mike

Ian if you are looking for a 240 dog guard then OCT07200 has one, see post for 240 parts from last week. I was going to get this for my new 240GLT but our terrier has discovered how to squeeze round the sides of the one in our 240SE. A few years back I had a mesh dog guard made by a company called Barjo. This fitted to the same mounting points but had less of a gap down the side, like a fool I sold it when I briefly switched to a 740 last year. Has any one else seen these or know of one for sale? I'm off to google for one now.

just found there website, they don't seem to have anything listed for 240s but do for later models. They also make wire mesh gates to fit inside the tailgate so you can leave dogs in the car with tailgate open. I have one of these in the shed. It came off of a 240 I had several years ago. This had mounting points on the rear pillars which replaced the luggage restraint hooks. None of my subsequent 240s have had similar mountings. I'm wondering if these were a feature of early 240s or specially fitted to that vehicle. Any ideas chaps?

My previous 240, a 91'Torslanda had a Volvo dog guard in the rear. It screwed into two threaded holes in the roof on either side. It hinged on these and clipped onto two sturdy plastic clips on the back of the rear seat. Easy for rear seat passengers to unclip & reach into the boot area. I now have an 89' 245 GL which has not got a guard and appears not to have the mounts in the roof or the clips on the rear seat. Seems that it depends on which model you have. Cheers.
