Hi, I own soundforge since version 6, before it was sold to Sony that is. I still use it for many things, especially if I want to do some experimental work with a wav-file. (As Reaper is so great that it can use flac or ape files I often see by doubleclicking the file that it wouldn't open in SF, hehe...). It is a topic you can read quite a bit around here. Many don't need a second editor. I just like Soundforge, and I'm just used to it. The noise reduction tool in SF9 is the best one I have, to begin with. Many things are laid out so clearly, and while I could do many things in reaper for sure, I just do them in SF from time to time. If you setup SF as your audio editor in Reaper, (options - preferences - external editors) and double-click your wav, it instantly opens in SF. After you edit it and save it, it is re-loaded that way in Reaper automatically. Easy! I like that.
