Can anyone tell me if you can use the plastic headlight protectors on headlights with the wash/wipe facility?

Hi, Yes, I believe you can.. Only issue you're likely to experience is scratching of the protector where the wiper blade passes over it... You can always remove the wipe system if that issue concerns you... Or unplug the power from each motor.. You can remove the scratches with glass polish, brasso or T-Cut... Des. . . ;) EDIT: I think (but someone correct me if I am wrong) You may also need to check/adjust the wiper travel to prevent the arm/blade getting caught on the cover edge...

Headlamp covers are a pain even though volvo seem to approve them . When it rains water droplets can get on the back of the cover and headlamp lens and cause havok with the beam pattern .

I find a coat of 'Rain-X' on both the headlamps and the protectors helps keep them clear of droplets, and helps prevent some scratching. Kevin.

I have used headlamp protectors for years on various Volvo`s and the negatives are they get scratched from the wipers and they have to be taken off to clean the headlamps and the back of the protectors to keep the headlamp performanc up to standard. Sill a worthwhile acessory and saves the headlamp from stone damage.
