Hi there, I'm preparing my project to send to someone, who also uses Reaper, to mix. I rendered all my tracks (with multiple takes/comps) into single file stems. I did "save project as" and renamed the project (*SongTitle*_4MIX) but now I am confused as to how to organize a folder to send. I think I missed a step or did something out of order. I really dont want to have to dig through hundreds of audio files to find the ones I need. I tried running "clean project directory" but that only cleared 1 file. Is there another way to send this session easily? Thank you!

General guidelines for preparing tracks make a copy of your project file to prepare your tracks for mixing remove anything you wouldn't want in the final mix consolidate audio files to a common start point like bar 1 (it's best to use the glue action in reaper for this.) keep mono sources mono, and stereo as stereo interleaved. (many DAWs will render all tracks as stereo if you're not careful) essential special effects should be printed to duplicate files. Include all MIDI with tempo map and markers print virtual instruments with at least 6dB of headroom as stereo audio Simple file names. Good example = "Kick.wav"; Bad example = "Best song ever drums Kick in D112 SSL Take 04-52 consolidate final 3.wav" Separate folder for media for each song. ZIP the folder and send to me

Here's how i would do it. Save under a new name like Song X Mix prep. Glue all items starting at bar 1. Render all virtual instruments as stereo files starting from bar 1. Render all important effects as separate stereo tracks. ( the mixer would know how to make them mono if he feels the need for it ) Delete all sends and inserts, delete all muted/unused tracks. Go to file/clean current project directory. A window will show you all unused audio files in this particular session. Delete them all. Rar. the folder which contains the audio files and the session file. Send over and hope he's a good mixer :) Ok.. so i'm saying mostly what EpicSounds just told you :S
